CS2 Entry into High Risk Confined Space with Escape Sets and Full BA
For those required to enter areas deemed as high risk due to atmospheric conditions and require the use of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). This course will follow guidelines set out in the Confined Space Regulations 1997.

Topics
Along with gaining a sound understanding of the Confined Space Regulations 1997, learners will be able to:
- Personal protection and hygiene requirements
- Understanding risk assessment and method statements
- Types of gaseous atmosphere, gas monitoring equipment and its use
- The use of harnesses, fall arrest and retrieval systems
- The use of escape breathing apparatus and self-rescue procedures
- Safe entry working and exit procedures at confined space
- Knowledge and skill exercises for planning, permits, entering, working and exiting confined spaces using escape breathing apparatus as part of the planned means for self-rescue
- Recognise the reasons for use; Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, gas monitoring systems, hazards of ammonia and LEL levels
- SCBA; components, pre-user work checks, donning process, importance of regular use/practise
- Use of SCBA; preparing to work safely in dangerous atmospheres, BA Control & dealing with emergencies
- Care & maintenance; user hygiene & cleaning, care & maintenance, decontamination & record keeping
Prerequisites
- Candidates should be clean shaven when at all possible.
- Candidates should bring their own safety footwear, waterproof clothing, hard hat and working gloves for the practical exercises.
- Candidates should be physically and mentally fit to withstand the rigours of training.
- Candidates should be able to read, write and understand English as all documentation, presentations and examination paperwork will be in English only.
